Hindu Veer Sena Member Detained for Expulsion Video Against Muslims

A member of a Hindu right-wing group was detained on Sunday for allegedly sharing a provocative video demanding the expulsion of Rohingya Muslims and Bangladeshis from India within 72 hours, police reported. Satyam Pandit, linked to Hindu Veer Sena, challenged the police and used offensive language in the video. He was arrested by Nandgram police and has been jailed, according to Police Commissioner Ajay Kumar Mishra.

Member Detained Over Expulsion Video

In the video, Pandit threatened retaliation against Rohingyas and Bangladeshi Muslims if they were not deported within the specified time frame. Meanwhile, Bhupendra Chowdhury alias Pinki of Hindu Raksha Dal and his supporter Badal alias Hariom were sent to judicial custody for 14 days on Sunday. They were arrested on Saturday for allegedly attacking a group near a railway station and destroying their shelters, claiming they were Bangladeshi infiltrators.

Arrests and Judicial Custody

Their shanties were demolished and set ablaze near Guldhar railway police station under Madhuban Bapudham police station jurisdiction on Friday. Mishra stated that more attackers need to be identified, and efforts are ongoing to apprehend them. Officials clarified that those attacked were not Bangladeshis, and an FIR had been filed against Chowdhary and 20 others for rioting, hurting religious sentiments, and other offences.

Some residents sustained injuries during the incident around 7:30 pm on Friday. Sub-Inspector Sanjiv Kumar, who was on duty in Sanjay Nagar Sector-23, lodged the FIR at Madhuban Bapudham police station. Chowdhary is the only named accused in the FIR, which includes charges under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) sections 1912 for rioting, 1152 for voluntarily causing hurt, 1174 for causing grievous hurt, 299 for deliberate acts intended to outrage religious feelings by insulting religious beliefs, 3245 for mischief, and 354 for acts caused by inducing a person to believe they will face divine displeasure.

Incident Details

The two men were taken into custody after allegedly assaulting people living near the railway station. Their actions led to the destruction of makeshift homes they claimed belonged to Bangladeshi infiltrators. The incident has sparked concerns about communal tensions in the area.

Mishra emphasized that identifying all involved attackers is crucial and that law enforcement is actively working on it. The authorities have assured that those responsible will face legal consequences. The situation remains tense as investigations continue.

The arrest of Satyam Pandit highlights ongoing issues related to inflammatory rhetoric and communal violence in India. Authorities are under pressure to address such incidents promptly to maintain peace and order.

Efforts are being made to ensure justice for those affected by these violent acts. The police are committed to upholding law and order while addressing communal tensions effectively.
