Bouncing Back from Nature’s Wrath: Himachal Plans Tourism Festivals Across All Districts

In an effort to revive tourism after being hit by nature's fury, Himachal Pradesh plans to host tourism festivals in all its 12 districts. With 99% of the state's tourist activities restored and roads open for travel, the government is ready for tourists. The Shimla Flying Festival will be among these events.

Shimla, the capital of Himachal Pradesh, is set to make a significant comeback from recent natural disasters. The state has announced its plans to hold tourism festivals across all 12 of its districts as part of an effort to revitalize local tourism. This comes after the successful resumption of 99 per cent of tourist activities in the region following extensive recovery operations.

A Collaborative Effort for Tourism Revival

Himachal Pradesh Tourism Festivals

Raghubir Singh Bali, Vice Chairman of the Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Board (HPTDB), unveiled these plans on Tuesday. According to him, district Tourism Officers will develop festival themes fitting their respective districts. Involving school and college students as well as local representatives in various festival activities is also part of this comprehensive plan.

Rebounding From Natural Disasters

The initiative follows a period where life was disrupted due to excessive rains and flash floods that triggered massive landslides in the area. However, with a swift response from government bodies leading restoration operations, normalcy has been restored quickly. Roads are now open and services have resumed - paving way for tourists' return.

Shimla Flying Festival: A Highlight Event

Bali further revealed that one highlight event would be the Shimla Flying Festival scheduled at Junga near the state capital from October 12-15th. The Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (HPTDC) has already allocated Rs 10 lakh towards organizing this event which promises participation from competitors both nationally and internationally.

This festival seems promising with registration numbers indicating substantial interest; so far, over 35 fliers have registered for participation – a figure expected to rise considerably before commencement.

The Road Ahead For Himachal’s Tourism Sector

The resilience displayed by Himachal Pradesh in the face of adversity is commendable. The state's proactive approach towards restoring normalcy and its focus on reviving tourism is an encouraging sign for other regions facing similar challenges.

These planned festivals are not just a means to attract tourists back to the region but also serve as a platform for local talents, students, and representatives to showcase their skills and contribute to their district's growth. They will be instrumental in fostering community spirit while promoting Himachal Pradesh as a vibrant tourist destination.

In conclusion, these efforts by the Himachal Pradesh government signal a new dawn for the state’s tourism sector. Through collaboration and innovative initiatives like these district-based festivals, it looks set to turn recent adversities into opportunities - demonstrating resilience while boosting regional development through tourism.
