Himachal Pradesh Floods: Dramatic Visuals Of Monsoon Fury Caught On Camera

Under the influence of an active Western Disturbance, intense spells of extremely heavy rainfall hit several parts of Himachal Pradesh, including Chamba, Kangra, Kullu, Mandi, Una, Hamirpur and Bilaspur districts on Sunday.

The weather office has issued a "red" alert for about seven districts in the state after landslides and flash floods were reported in Shimla, Sirmaur, Lahaul and Spiti, Chamba and Sol.

The Met office has forecast a wet spell in the state till July 13.

A portion of the national highway, along the Beas river in Himachal Pradesh's Kullu, was washed away following massive landslides - triggered by heavy rain.

A car was swept away in Beas river near Kullu, Himachal Pradesh earlier today as water level has increased in the river following heavy rains, according to news agency PTI.

School colleges shut in Mandi

All schools and colleges in Mandi will remain closed for tomorrow due to ongoing heavy rain in the district, said Arindam Chaudhary, Deputy Commissioner Mandi.
