Karnataka Congress said that the diary was fake. Congress MLC Govindraj who is the alleged owner of the diary, went on to state that the diary is mysterious and the handwriting was not his.

The diary entry of the leader who was recently raided by the Income Tax department contained initials such as RG, AICC, SG office, M Vohra among other initials.
Govindraj said that the IT had raided his home in 2016. "I had given all clarifications, and I wonder why the media is not putting that up. I am being targetted because I am close to the Karnataka CM," he said.
On Sunday, BJP leader B S Yeddyurappa accused Chief Minister Siddaramaiah of paying Rs 150 crore in kickbacks for sanctioning the controversial steel flyover in Bengaluru.
The diary released on Thursday shows that a sum of Rs 3.2 crore was paid to one Vohra. It also shows that Rs 6 crore was paid to an 'RG office' and Rs 5 crore to an 'SG office'. There is also someone mentioned as 'DGVS'.
After Yeddyurappa had made the allegations, Govindraj had written to the IT department seeking a clarification. He sought to know if the department had made public or shared information with any politician.
