Living With Uncle: What Mumbai Murder Victim Told Orphanage

Saraswati Vaidya, the woman, who was allegedly killed by her live-in partner in Mumbai, lived in an orphanage in Ahmednagar although she had three sisters.

The 56-year-old man was living with the accused Manoj Sane for nine years. Once she decided to move with him, Vaidya had told the orphanage that she would live with her maternal uncle, a wealthy man in Mumbai, according to a report in NDTV.

Heres What Mumbai Murder Victim Told Orphanage About Alleged Killer

"She told us that her uncle stays in Mumbai, and I stay with him. She told us that the man is a clothes merchant and is extremely rich," NDTV quoted Anu Salve as saying. Vaidya had last visited the orphanage two years ago and she looked unhappy.

So far, reports had claimed that the murder accused was Vaidya's live-in partner.

Manoj San was unmarried and owned a house in Borivali, Mumbai, where a few of his family members reside. However, he has been living separately from his family. Sane was employed at a grocery store located in Borivali. According to the police, the victim frequently visited the shop where Sane worked, according to the report.

Their bond strengthened in 2014, and in 2016, they made the decision to live together in 2016. They moved to the Mira Road flat three years ago.

On the other hand, Manoj Ramesh Sane has been sent to judicial custody by a Thane court on Friday. He has reportedly told the investigating officers that he is HIV positive and never had a physical relationship with the victim, Indian Express reported.

"During preliminary inquiry, Sane told police that in 2008 he discovered that he was HIV positive. Since then, he has been on medication. He said that he suspects he contracted the disease due to use of infected blood during his treatment a long time ago, after he had met with an accident," the daily quoted a senior official as saying.

After killing her, the accused cut her body into pieces using cutters, boiled pieces of her body in a pressure cooker and later filled them into plastic bags to dispose of them. They further say that over 12-13 pieces of the woman's body were recovered from the site.
