Chief Justice of India J S Khehar was the President of India for a few seconds today. The CJI who administered the oath of office to Ram Nath Kovind at the Central Hall of Parliament on Tuesday was the President of India for a brief while
when the chair was being exchanged between Kovind and Pranab Mukherjee.

Ram Nath Kovind took the buggy ride from Rashtrapati Bhavan to Parliament. During the ride, Kovind was seated on the right while Mukherjee was at the left. Kovind will now ride back on the left while Mukherjee would be seated on the right. The two would ride back together to Rashtrapati Bhavan after the ceremony at Central Hall.

Once back at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, Kovind will deliver an address. He would then accompany Mukherjee to his new home at 10 Rajaji Marg. He would be received by Finance Minister Arun Jaitely.
