Heatwave conditions abate over East, rainfall in 3 States, predicts IMD
The India Meteorological Department on Friday said that the heat wave conditions prevailing over Bihar, West Bengal and Odisha have abated due to a western disturbance and a cyclonic circulation over Uttar Pradesh.
The weather-monitoring agency said that the heat wave, which disrupted life in parts of Gangetic West Bengal and Bihar in recent days, subsided from Gangetic West Bengal after 10 days, from Bihar after seven days and from Odisha after five days.

"This temperature dip is attributed to a Western Disturbance along 72°E and a cyclonic circulation over UP," the IMD said in a tweet. However, mild Temperatures over East India are likely to continue during next 4-5 days. "Above normal temperatures over these regions are now 2-6℃ below normal over Bihar, Jharkhand adjoining GWB and Odisha," it said.
Heavy Rainfall in Arunachal
The weather-monitoring agency has predicted heavy rainfall in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and Meghalaya. "Under the influence of a Western Disturbance roughly along 72°E, a cyclonic circulation over UP and moisture incursion due to an anti-cyclonic circulation over Northwest Bay of Bengal."
It said that Arunachal, Assam and Meghalaya are expected to receive "fairly widespread, widespread light, moderate rainfall with isolated thunderstorm" with lightning & heavy rainfall till Saturday. Also, light rainfall along with thunderstorm activity also undergoing over some parts of East UP and Bihar, the IMD said on Twitter.
