He Should Return As Prime Minister In 2024: Madurai Priest Who Will Present ‘Sengol’ To PM Modi
Narendra Modi should return as the Prime Minister of India again in 2024, said the head priest of Madurai Adheenam Sri Harihara Desika Swamigal, who will be presenting the 'Sengol' to the PM during the inauguration of the new parliament building on Sunday.
"PM Modi is a leader who got global appreciation. He is doing good things for people. Again in 2024 he has to become PM and should guide people. We are all so proud as world leaders are appreciating our PM Modi," ANI quoted him as saying. "I will be meeting PM Modi and presenting the 'Sengol' to him on the inauguration of the new Parliament building," he claimed.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the new Parliament building on May 28, marking a significant milestone in the redevelopment of Central Vista. The 'Sengol' will be installed near the chair of the Speaker in the new Parliament building between 8.30 and 9.00 am.
There will be a prayer meeting at 9-9.30 am. Many great scholars, pundits and saints, including Shankaracharya, will be present in this prayer meeting.
The same spectre will be handed over to PM Modi by the head priest of Madurai Adheenam on May 28. "We're the makers of the 'Sengol'. It took us a month's time to make it. It is made of silver and gold plated. I was 14 years at that time...we're grateful to PM Modi," Vummidi Sudhakar, chairman of Vummidi Bangaru Jewellers which made historic sceptre 'Sengol', told the news agency.
The first Prime Minister of India was presented 'Sengol' at his residence on the night of August 14. This represents the symbol of the transfer of power from the Britishers to India.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah recalled the incident and said, "Even after 75 years of independence, most of the people in India are not aware of this event in which India's transfer of power took place through handing over of 'Sengol' to Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. It was a special occasion on the night of August 14, 1947, celebrating India's independence.
On this night Jawaharlal Nehru received the 'Sengol' from the Adheenams (Priests) of the ThiruvaduthuraiAdheenam (Mutt) in Tamil Nadu, who had specially arrived for the occasion. It was precisely the moment in which power was transferred by the British into the hands of Indians. What we are celebrating as independence is actually marked by the very moment of handing over the 'Sengol'."
PM Modi took a decision to adopt the 'Sengol' as a national symbol of the Amrit Kaal, Shah said. He claimed that the new building of Parliament will witness the same event, with Adheenam(Priests) repeating the ceremony and vesting the PM with the 'Sengol'.
"The 'Sengol' is profound in meaning, which is derived from the Tamil word 'Semmai', meaning "Righteousness". It is blessed by the high priests of a leading Dharmic Mutt in Tamil Nadu. The Nandi, with its unyielding gaze as the beholder of 'Nyaya', is hand-carved at the top. Most importantly, the recipient of the 'Sengol' has the "order" ('Aanai' in Tamil) to rule justly and fairly. This is what is most appealing, for those elected to serve the people must never forget this," he added.
