In the lead-up to the Jharkhand Assembly elections, a stir has been caused by the nomination papers submitted by Chief Minister Hemant Soren. Representing the Barhait constituency once more, Soren's latest affidavit has raised eyebrows with its claim that his age has leapt from 42 to 49 in just five years, a revelation that has sparked a significant amount of debate and scrutiny.

Further intensifying the political drama, Assam Chief Minister and BJP co-incharge for the Jharkhand Assembly elections, Himanta Biswa Sarma, launched a broader attack on the JMM, labeling its entire system as fraudulent.
