Haryana To Equip 1000 More Primary Schools With Smart Classrooms In 2024-25
Haryana plans to equip an additional 1000 government primary schools with smart classrooms in the 2024-25 academic year under the Sampark Program. This initiative aims to enhance education through technology and improve learning outcomes for children across the state.
Currently, more than 6600 primary schools in Haryana have smart classrooms. The expansion of this program seeks to further integrate innovative educational technologies into the state's primary education system.

Additional Chief Secretary of the School Education Department, Vineet Garg, highlighted that smart classrooms have led to a 35 to 40 percent increase in learning outcomes and micro-competencies among students. He also noted that the Sampark Foundation provides extensive training to teachers, equipping them with the necessary skills to use new technologies effectively.
District-level dashboards have been established for monitoring progress by District Education Officers and Block Education Officers. These dashboards help track the implementation and effectiveness of smart classrooms across various districts.
Chief Secretary TVSN Prasad chaired a meeting with all Deputy Commissioners via video conferencing on Friday. He appreciated the initiative, stating it reinforces the state's commitment to boosting basic education. Prasad emphasized that smart classrooms are crucial for providing students with a better learning experience.
Prasad also mentioned collaborative efforts with Sampark Foundation for a technologically advanced and inclusive education system. He directed all Deputy Commissioners to oversee the effective implementation of the Sampark Program in their respective districts.
Development of Digital Learning Materials
The Education Department is developing digital learning materials in English and Mathematics to further enrich the educational experience. Training programs for Sampark Smart Shala are being organized to empower teachers in effectively implementing the smart classroom concept.
Sampark Foundation Chairman Dr. K. Rajaswara Rao commended Haryana for becoming the first state in India to effectively implement the NIPUN Bharat program. He informed that Sampark Foundation, established in 2005 by former HCL Technologies CEO Vineet Nayar and his wife Anupama Nayar, is dedicated to improving primary education and learning outcomes.
Integration with State’s Education Framework
Dr. Rajaswara emphasized that Sampark Smart Shala pedagogy is being integrated with the state's education framework in collaboration with the State Council of Educational Research and Training. This integration aims to enhance the overall quality of primary education in Haryana.
The foundation currently covers 1.25 lakh government schools in eight states across India, making significant strides in improving educational standards nationwide.
The initiative to expand smart classrooms reflects Haryana's commitment to leveraging technology for better educational outcomes. The collaborative efforts between the state government and Sampark Foundation aim to create a more inclusive and advanced education system for primary school students.
