Haryana Rape Case: Woman Gang-Raped In Train, Thrown On Tracks; Critical
A 35-year-old woman, missing since June 24, was reportedly gang-raped in an empty train coach at Panipat railway station. She was later thrown onto the tracks in Sonipat, Haryana, resulting in her leg being severed. Her husband had reported her missing on June 26, noting she often returned home after previous disappearances.
According to the survivor's account to the police, a man approached her at Panipat railway station claiming he was sent by her husband. He led her into an empty train coach where he raped her. Two other men joined him and also assaulted her. The woman was then taken to Sonipat and allegedly thrown onto the tracks.

Haryana rape case: Investigation Underway
The police have launched an investigation into the incident. They are questioning locals and examining CCTV footage near the railway station for clues. A Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed to probe the gangrape allegations and subsequent events in Sonipat.
Senior Railway Police official Rajesh confirmed that a zero FIR was filed on Sunday evening, and further investigation is ongoing. A zero FIR allows a case to be registered at any police station regardless of jurisdiction and can be transferred for appropriate action.
Haryana Rape Case Police Efforts Intensify
Panipat's Superintendent of Police, Bhupender Singh, along with his crime unit, visited the railway track where the incident occurred. They conducted a site inspection with Sonipat GRP police but avoided media interaction during their visit.
Eyewitnesses near Sonipat railway tracks reported hearing a woman's cries and rushed to help. They found her surrounded by a crowd with her leg severed after being caught in the track switch. Bystanders informed railway police, leading to her transfer from Sonipat General Hospital to Rohtak PGI for further treatment.
Haryana Rape Case: Survivor's Condition
The woman is currently receiving medical care at a hospital. "We registered a Zero FIR for gangrape and forwarded it to the Panipat Government Railway Police (GRP) for further action," stated senior police official Shri Niwas.
The investigation continues as police teams search for concrete evidence in this case. They are questioning local residents and shopkeepers while reviewing CCTV footage from nearby areas.
