Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has appointed Ashok Gehlot, Ajay Maken, and Partap Singh Bajwa as Senior Observers for the Haryana Assembly elections on October 5. Their role is to ensure a smooth election process in the state.

Recently, Congress released a new list of 40 candidates for the Haryana elections. This list includes notable figures like Aditya, son of Randeep Surjewala, Chander Mohan from Panchkula, Ch Nirmal Singh from Ambala, and Varinder Kumar Shah from Panipat City.

Key Candidates Announced

Hours later, Congress unveiled its fourth list of five candidates. Parimal Pari will contest against BJP's Anil Vij in Ambala Cantt. Former Haryana Youth Congress chief Sachin Kundu will run from Panipat Rural, while Rohit Nagar will represent Tigaon. Satbir Dublain is named for Narwana (SC) reserved seat and Sarva Mitra Kamboj for Rania.

Last week, Congress declared 32 candidates for the polls. Bhupinder Singh Hooda will contest from Garhi Sampla-Kiloi, state unit chief Udai Bhan from Hodal, and wrestler Vinesh Phogat from Julana. Initially, they released a list of 31 candidates but later added Balbir Singh for the Israna (SC) constituency.

BJP Faces Challenges

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is facing internal challenges with resignations from key leaders like GL Sharma and Karan Dev Kamboj. The party has been in power for ten years but now faces a tough battle against the opposition.

The Election Commission of India (ECI) revised the polling date for Haryana Assembly Elections to October 5 and moved the vote counting to October 8. This change respects the Bishnoi community's tradition of celebrating Asoj Amavasya in memory of Guru Jambheshwar.

Seat-Sharing Talks with AAP

Congress was negotiating seat-sharing with Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for the Haryana polls. However, talks stalled with both sides bargaining hard. Some Congress leaders are hesitant about an alliance with Arvind Kejriwal's party.

The assembly elections in Haryana are scheduled for October 5, with vote counting on October 8. This election season is crucial as parties prepare to face off in a highly competitive environment.
