Haryana Notifies Benefits of 74 Schemes Under DBT Programme

Haryana Chief Secretary Sanjeev Kaushal announced that 74 out of 83 schemes implemented by the state government have been notified under the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) programme and linked to Aadhaar cards. These schemes will also be operated through the Parivar Pehchan Patra (family ID) scheme of the state government.

In a significant move towards transparency and efficiency in welfare delivery, the Haryana government has made substantial progress in implementing the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) program. The state's Chief Secretary, Sanjeev Kaushal, recently presided over a meeting of the Direct Benefit Transfer DBT Advisory Board, where he highlighted the achievements and outlined further steps for the program's expansion.

Schemes Notified Under DBT

Haryana Notifies DBT Benefits for 74 Schemes

Kaushal announced that out of the 83 schemes implemented by various departments in Haryana, benefits of 74 schemes have been notified under the DBT program. These schemes have been linked to the Aadhaar card, ensuring that eligible beneficiaries receive their entitlements directly and securely.

Cumulative Savings through Ghost Beneficiary Identification

The state government's efforts to weed out ineligible beneficiaries have yielded significant results. Through a comprehensive review from fiscal year 2014-15 to 2022-23, a total of 36,74,833 ghost or duplicate beneficiaries have been identified across various schemes. This initiative has resulted in substantial notional savings amounting to Rs 7,822.69 crore, indicating the government's commitment to prudent fiscal management.

Inclusion of Additional Schemes

Recognizing the importance of skill development, food and supplies, urban local bodies, agriculture, and AYUSH sectors, the meeting emphasized the urgent inclusion of nine schemes related to these departments into the DBT framework within a week. This measure aims to ensure that all eligible beneficiaries receive their benefits seamlessly and without delay.

Emphasis on Parivar Pehchan Patra

To enhance efficiency and streamline service delivery, the Chief Secretary stressed the importance of operating all schemes through the Parivar Pehchan Patra (Family ID) scheme of the state government. The Parivar Pehchan Patra is a unique initiative that creates a comprehensive database of families, enabling targeted and effective delivery of welfare benefits.

Disbursement of Subsidies to Farmers

During the meeting, Kaushal also directed officers from the agriculture department to promptly disburse subsidies to farmers under various schemes designed for the management of paddy straw. This initiative aims to support farmers in adopting sustainable practices and reducing the environmental impact of paddy straw burning.

The Haryana government's proactive implementation of the DBT program and its commitment to eliminating ghost beneficiaries are commendable steps towards ensuring transparency, accountability, and efficiency in welfare delivery. By leveraging technology and streamlining processes, the state government is empowering citizens and making a positive impact on their lives. The integration of schemes with the Parivar Pehchan Patra further strengthens the state's efforts towards inclusive and targeted welfare interventions.
