Defying Police Warning, Hate Speech At Hindu Outfit Meeting In Haryana

In spite of the "no hate speech" condition laid down by the Haryana authorities to grant permission for 'Mahapanchayat' by a Hindu outfit in the Palwal district, a few issued open threats in the presence of police, NDTV reported.

"If you raise a finger, we will cut off your hands," a speaker was quoted as saying at the event. Another one reportedly claimed that they need licences for rifles.

Haryana Grants Permission To Hindu Outfit To Conduct Mahapanchayat, But Conditions Apply

The Haryana government granted permission to 'mahapanchayat' in Pondri village on Sunday where the Hindu leaders will take a call on resuming VHP's Braj Mandal Yatra in Nuh that was disrupted on July 31 after communal violence broke out in Nuh.

"Permission has been granted on several conditions. Hate speech is prohibited. Our team will keep an eye on each and every person and action will be taken against people for any wrong action," SP, Palwal Lokender Singh, said on Mahapanchayat organised at Pondri village.

The 'Sarva Jatiye Mahapanchayat' was originally planned to be held in Nuh district's Kira village but permission was denied for it in view of the prevailing law and order situation. Permission for the event has been given in Palwal, he added.

Palwal and Nuh are adjoining districts. The 'mahapanchayat' will be held under the banner of 'Sarv Hindu Samaj', in which Hindu outfits including the Vishva Hindu Parishad, will take part. Police said a gathering of around 500 people has been allowed for the mahapanchayat and strict action will be taken if anyone makes any kind of hate speech.

Six people, including two home guards and a cleric, died in the communal clashes that erupted in Nuh when a VHP procession was attacked by a mob.

On the other hand, VHP leader from Gurugram Devender Singh claimed that the yatra will resume on August 28 in Nuh after the earlier one came under attack.

It may be recalled that the Hindu Samaj Mahapanchayat, following the violence, had organized a gathering in Gurugram, despite the police department refusing to grant permission. During this gathering, they gave a call to boycott Muslim traders.
