Haryana Govt to provide power connections to unauthorised colonies
Chandigarh, Aug 22: Haryana Government has decided to provide electricity connection to those who are residing in unauthorized colonies or slums on a purely "temporary basis".
No additional charges will be taken from the consumers and the electricity bill will be issued to such consumers in a separate colour, an official release said here today.

The decision aims at providing basic amenities to all the citizens in the State and will also prevent unauthorized use of electricity by such residents, it said.
The consumers in these areas are required to submit an affidavit and indemnity bond that the availability of electric connection is not giving any ownership right of the land, it added.
