Haryana
Rohtak, Sept 19: In another shocking incident of 'honour killing', a 20 year old girl was lynched and her 23 year old husband was beheaded in public.

Nidhi (a student of fine arts) fell in love with Dharmendra Barak who was doing a technical course and eloped to Delhi to get married. They reportedly did not have any other option as both their families in Gharnavati village of Rohtak were against the relationship.

The couple were convinced to come back, promised not to be harmed.

According to reports by NDTV.com, after Nidhi's family found out what was happening, they convinced the couple to come back and promised not to harm them.

Hours of torture and inhuman behaviour began soon after they reached their village. The girl was beaten up by her family members in public and the boy was brutally beaten for hours and his arms and legs broken, before being beheaded. His body was then dumped at a public place in the village.

On the intimation of a villager, the police arrived right on time to find the relatives of the girl cremating her. Arresting the girl's uncle and father, the police seized the half burnt body of the girl and the body of the boy for post-mortem.

Incidentally, the brutality was meted out in Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda's hometown Rohtak.
