Haryana Chief Minister Directs DCs and SPs to Jointly Address Crimes Against Women and Drug Abuse
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has called for enhanced cooperation between deputy commissioners and superintendents of police. This collaboration aims to tackle issues like crime against women and drug addiction effectively. Saini chaired a meeting with these officials at the Madhuban Police Complex in Karnal, as per an official statement.

Before the meeting commenced, Saini led the officers in reciting the Preamble of the Constitution. This was part of the Hamara Samvidhan Hamara Swabhiman Abhiyan initiative. He emphasised that DCs and SPs are the government's representatives at the grassroots level, and citizens have high expectations from them.
Administrative Efficiency and Welfare Programmes
Saini urged officers to work closely together to meet public expectations and ensure government policies are implemented efficiently. He stressed promoting administrative efficiency so that welfare programmes benefit people at the grassroots level. The CM also directed officials to enforce three new criminal laws by March 31.
He instructed that video conferencing facilities should be installed in all courts across Haryana. Additionally, he highlighted the importance of implementing e-summons and e-challans to prevent witnesses from needing to appear in court for statements.
Ensuring Justice and Combating Drug Abuse
The Chief Minister reiterated that the state government is committed to ensuring innocent individuals are not wrongfully punished while ensuring severe penalties for the guilty. He encouraged officials to collaborate effectively to achieve these objectives.
Saini directed district-level committees to monitor crimes against women closely and take appropriate actions in each case. He also instructed officers to conduct joint operations against drug abuse within their districts.
Targeting Drug Supply Chains
The officers were urged to work together to identify drug mafias, target supply chains, and dismantle them, aiming for a drug-free state. Marathons are being organised as part of this campaign, with officers encouraged to ensure maximum youth participation.
Addressing Illegal Mining
In response to illegal mining cases, Saini directed DCs and SPs to take swift and decisive action against such activities. The goal is to curb illegal mining effectively throughout Haryana.
The meeting underscored the importance of coordination among officials to address pressing issues like crime, drug abuse, and illegal mining. By working together, they aim to improve public safety and welfare across the state.
