Khattar made these remarks during a Jan Vishwas-Jan Vikas event at the HSVP Convention Centre in Faridabad. The event marked one year of the BJP's third term in Haryana. It began with distributing allotment letters for plots under the Chief Minister Rural Housing Scheme 2.0.
Corruption Allegations and Suicides
Y Puran Kumar, a 52-year-old IPS officer from the 2001 batch, allegedly took his own life on October 7 at his residence in Sector 11. He left a note accusing senior police officials of harassment and caste discrimination. This incident took a turn when ASI Sandeep Kumar also committed suicide, accusing Puran Kumar of corruption.
Khattar highlighted that corruption is a significant challenge nationwide. He praised the Narendra Modi government for its efforts against it. "Some people are trying to give it a political colour or caste angle to recent events, but the truth is that corruption is the root of all problems," he stated.
Government Initiatives and Reforms
The Haryana government has taken steps to ensure transparency and good governance. Initiatives like the online transfer system and digital service delivery are part of these reforms. Khattar noted that Haryana is now kerosene-free, with electricity, gas, and water available to every household.
The government has also allotted plots to around 9,000 beneficiaries under a special initiative for permanent housing for poor families. "A new identity for good governance: No parchi, no kharchi became the mantra for the BJP governments victory for the third time in Haryana," Khattar remarked.
Ensuring Justice and Accountability
Khattar assured that no one involved in corruption would be spared, regardless of their influence. He also promised that no innocent person would face injustice. "It is also clear that no innocent person will be allowed to suffer injustice and everyone will receive justice," he added.
The Jan Vishwas-Jan Vikas function aimed to reinforce public trust and highlight developmental achievements under the BJP government. The event underscored ongoing efforts to improve governance and address issues like corruption effectively.
