Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Saini Responds To Kejriwal's Contamination Claims By Drinking Yamuna Water
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Saini recently drank water from the Yamuna River in Delhi's Palla village. This act was a response to Arvind Kejriwal's accusation that Haryana had contaminated the river water flowing into Delhi. Saini's gesture is seen as a rebuttal to Kejriwal's claims, which have stirred both political and social reactions.
In another development, Haryana Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Vipul Goel announced plans to file a case against Kejriwal. Goel criticised Kejriwal for making what he termed an "irresponsible statement" about the Yamuna water, which he believes caused unnecessary panic among residents of Delhi and Haryana.

Legal Action Against Kejriwal
Goel stated that the Haryana government intends to register a case against Kejriwal under Sections 2 (D) and 54 of the Disaster Management Act. These sections address false alarms or warnings about disasters that lead to public panic. Goel accused Kejriwal of spreading lies and causing undue alarm with his remarks.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also weighed in on the controversy during a rally in Delhi. He criticised Kejriwal for allegedly insulting Haryana's people with false accusations. Modi compared AAP leaders to notorious conman Charles Sobhraj, suggesting they deceive people with their seemingly innocent lies.

Political Tensions Rise
Modi further accused AAP leaders of misusing public funds and spreading misinformation. He warned the public to be wary of such individuals, likening their tactics to those used by Sobhraj, who was known for his deceptive ways. Modi emphasised that AAP's actions would not be forgotten by history or the people of Haryana.
The ongoing dispute between Haryana and Delhi has intensified as elections approach. The allegations regarding Yamuna water quality have become a focal point in political debates, drawing attention from national leaders like Modi.
This controversy highlights the complex relationship between neighbouring states and how environmental issues can quickly become politicised. As legal proceedings unfold, both sides continue to defend their positions vigorously.
