Haryana Chief Minister Pays Tribute To Sant Kabirdas On 626th Anniversary
On Sant Kabirdas's 626th birth anniversary, Haryana's Chief Minister announced initiatives for the poor, including a new chowk and library funding.
Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal paid tribute to Sant Kabirdas on his 626th birth anniversary. He announced several initiatives to support the poor. These include constructing a chowk in Gohana named after Sant Kabir and allocating Rs 31 lakh for a library and langar hall for the Dhanak Education Sabha in Gohana.
He also mentioned plans for a bypass on the Rohtak-Jind road and promised to address the backlog in government jobs soon. The government will advocate in court for reservation benefits in promotions to the first and second grades. The Chief Minister spoke at the state-level Sant Kabirdas Jayanti celebrations in Gohana, Sonipat.

Earlier, he paid floral tributes to Sant Kabir Das's portrait. He said the government follows Sant Kabir Das's teachings and has launched many welfare schemes to support the poor. Sant Kabir's life aimed to eradicate superstition, casteism, and orthodox traditions.
He added that Sant Kabir is a symbol of universal harmony. The country is home to people of different castes and sects, and we should love humanity without discrimination. However, he expressed concern that some political parties spread discrimination for their interests.
The Chief Minister criticised those who mislead people by spreading false propaganda about the Constitution. He said that many political parties do not like peace and development but prefer unrest for political gains. To honour great men, the state government has implemented the Mahapurush Samman Prachar-Prasar Yojana.
Under this scheme, birth anniversaries of great men are celebrated at the government level. Inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's mantra of Sabka Saath-Sabka Vikas, Sabka Prayas, the state government is committed to the welfare of the poor with its Antyodaya spirit.
The government has provided free ration to 45 lakh BPL families and LPG cylinders to 12 lakh BPL families. The Haryana Antyodaya Parivar Transport Yojana offers free travel up to 1000 km per year in state transport buses to 84 lakh people from 23 lakh families with an income of less than one lakh rupees.
The Ayushman Bharat Yojana has been extended through the Chirayu Yojana, providing medical facilities up to Rs 5 lakh annually in government and private hospitals. Under the Nirogi Haryana Yojana, health officials have checked the health of crores of people for free.
The Congress government had promised plots to poor beneficiaries but failed to deliver. The current government identified 20 thousand beneficiaries and handed over possession letters to more than 7000 beneficiaries in Sonipat. Financial assistance of one lakh rupees will be given to those without available panchayat land.
A portal has been started to help new beneficiaries under this scheme. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given 4 crore houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and pledged to build 3 crore more houses in five years.
During the pandemic, street vendors received financial assistance of Rs 10,000 each under the Pradhan Mantri Swanidhi Yojana. Under the Apni Beti Humari Beti scheme, Rs 21,000 is deposited in a daughter's account for up to three daughters at birth.
The government has taken many steps in e-governance, allowing people to benefit from schemes at home. Under the old age pension scheme, a monthly pension of Rs 3000 is automatically deposited into beneficiaries' accounts when they turn 60.
Other social security pensions are also credited directly into bank accounts, reducing visits to offices. During the program, Dhanak Samaj Education Sabha Gohana honoured Chief Minister Manohar Lal with a turban.
Former administrative officer Amarjit Singh submitted a memorandum on behalf of society. The Chief Minister assured that no eligible person would be deprived of government scheme benefits and warned officers against any complaints.
He instructed DCs and SPs to set up daily solution camps from 9 am to 11 am for grievance redressal. He monitors progress reports from all districts daily. People can visit his residence in Chandigarh with their problems anytime.
Minister Bisambhar Singh said that today's large gathering shows that BJP will form the government for a third time in Haryana. There are 46 castes in the Scheduled Castes category benefiting from reservation in educational institutions.
Rajya Sabha MP Ramchandra Jagda and Rai MLA Mohan Lal Badoli also addressed the gathering. Renowned folk singer Anwar Khan mesmerised the audience with his rendition of Kabir Bhajan.
