Haryana Cabinet 2024: Who’s Who In CM Nayab Singh Saini’s New Lineup And Key Portfolios

As BJP has won state assembly elections 2024 in Haryana, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has retained control over 13 crucial portfolios in the newly formed state cabinet. The announcement came after Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya, on the advice of CM Saini, finalized the much-anticipated allocation of portfolios to the 14-member council of ministers on Sunday, October 20, 2024.

The new cabinet marks the BJP's third consecutive term in the state, following their success in the recent assembly elections where the party secured 48 out of 90 seats. The Congress trailed with 37 seats, while INLD won two, and three seats were taken by Independent candidates.

Major Reassignments in the Cabinet

  • Anil Vij, who previously held the Home portfolio in the Manohar Lal Khattar government, has now been assigned Labour, along with Energy and Transport.
  • Krishan Lal Panwar will manage Development and Panchayat as well as Mines and Geology.
  • Rao Narbir Singh takes charge of Industries and Commerce, Environment, Forests, and Wildlife, and Foreign Cooperation, alongside Sainik and Ardh Sainik Welfare.
  • Mahipal Dhanda will oversee School Education, Higher Education, Archives, and Parliamentary Affairs.
  • Arvind Sharma is responsible for Cooperation, Jail, Election, and Heritage and Tourism.
