Haryana Polls: Nominations Filed

Polling for Haryana's 90 assembly seats is scheduled for October 5, with vote counting set for October 8. On Monday, a total of 74 candidates filed their papers, bringing the total number of nominations to 126 so far, according to officials.

Key Candidates and Their Supporters

Aseem Goel, a minister in the Nayab Singh Saini government, filed his nomination from the Ambala City assembly segment. He was joined by Saini and other party leaders. Meanwhile, former minister and BJP leader Vipul Goel submitted his nomination papers for the Faridabad assembly constituency. He was accompanied by Union Ministers Manohar Lal Khattar and Krishan Pal Gurjar.

In Rewari, Union Minister and Gurugram MP Rao Inderjit Singh accompanied BJP candidate Lakshman Singh Yadav to file his nomination. Chiranjeev Rao of Congress was accompanied by former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and his father Ajay Singh Yadav when he filed his nomination papers from Rewari.

Congress Criticism and Promises

Addressing public gatherings in Ratia and Safidon constituencies on Monday, Saini criticised the Congress, accusing its leaders of lying. He said that during Congress's rule, corruption was rampant and jobs were given based on favouritism. "The youth had lost faith in government jobs," he said. "But BJP restored the faith of the youth by giving jobs purely based on merit."

Hooda criticised the BJP government in Haryana at a gathering in Ganaur while accompanying Kuldeep Sharma for his nomination filing. Hooda accused the BJP of neglecting the constituency during its decade-long rule. He promised that if Congress comes to power, elderly citizens would receive a monthly pension of Rs 6,000, employees would benefit from the old pension scheme, and 2 lakh government jobs would be offered based on merit.

Independent Candidates and Other Parties

Cow vigilante Bittu Bajrangi alias Rajkumar Panchal, accused in the Nuh violence case, filed his nomination as an independent candidate from Faridabad's NIT assembly segment on Monday. Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) candidate Aditya Devi Lal also submitted his nomination papers from the Dabwali seat. Aditya Devi Lal is the grandson of former deputy prime minister Devi Lal.

Aditya Devi Lal recently left BJP to join INLD and was fielded from Dabwali. He will face JJP candidate Digvijay Singh Chautala, who is former Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala's brother. Addressing a gathering in Dabwali, INLD leader Abhay Singh Chautala urged people to ensure Aditya Chautala's victory.

Public Support and Campaigns

Vipul Goel expressed confidence that BJP's lotus symbol would bloom in Faridabad. "The presence of a huge number of people has shown that they are not going to fall for any illusions and lies of the Congress," he said at a public meeting. "The people of Faridabad have faith in the BJP."

Punjab MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal also attended a gathering in Dabwali to support Aditya Chautala. She recalled the close association between Devi Lal and her father-in-law Parkash Singh Badal. "After I got married, my father-in-law introduced former deputy PM Devi Lal as an elder of the family," she said while appealing to people to vote for Aditya Chautala.

The last date for filing nominations is September 12. The scrutiny of nomination papers will be conducted on September 13, with candidates allowed to withdraw their nominations until September 16.
