Haryana Assembly Polls 2024: PM Modi Slams Congress, Says Grand Old Party Betrayed Farmers, Youths
Haryana Assembly Polls 2024: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a rally held in Hisar, Haryana, on September 28, fiercely criticized the Congress party ahead of the state's assembly elections on October 5. He accused Congress of failing to fulfill its promises to farmers and of running a government where jobs were only obtained through bribery. Modi highlighted the transformation under the BJP government, stating that jobs are now accessible without the need for recommendations or bribes.
Modi's speech in Sonipat was filled with accusations towards Congress, portraying it as deceitful and dishonest, especially towards Himachal Pradesh. He questioned Congress's failure to implement its promises in states where it holds power and labeled it as an enemy of farmers. Modi emphasized, "Congress is the most deceitful and dishonest party in the country. What has it done to Himachal? The lies it told there are unimaginable. Now, after forming the government, Congress has shrugged off its promises. The public is asking Congress-what happened to your promises?"

The Prime Minister also attacked Congress on its stance towards Dalits and backward classes, accusing it of atrocities and of considering ending reservations for these groups. He recounted past incidents of violence against Dalits during Congress's tenure, asserting that the Dalit society would never forget these injustices. Modi further criticized Congress for its approach towards the youth and employment, claiming that the Congress's policies forced poor families into selling their lands to afford bribes for government jobs. In contrast, he highlighted the BJP's transparent job recruitment process.
Modi directed a significant portion of his speech against Congress's national security policies, accusing it of being in alliance with anti-national elements. He mentioned Congress leaders' alleged meetings with individuals opposed to India's interests and Pakistan's purported support for Congress due to their favorable policies. Modi particularly condemned Congress for questioning the legitimacy of the surgical strikes and for their derogatory remarks about the Indian Army chief.
In his scathing critique, Modi also brought up Congress's failure to implement the 'One Rank One Pension' scheme for army families, a promise he claims to have fulfilled upon taking office. He stated, "Congress did not give 'One Rank One Pension' to our army families for decades. They lied. I had given a guarantee from Rewari that I would implement 'One Rank One Pension' as soon as I became Prime Minister."
To conclude, Modi's address in Haryana was a comprehensive denunciation of the Congress party, touching on various issues from farmer policies to national security. He positioned the BJP as the antithesis of Congress, emphasizing stability, transparency in employment, and commitment to the welfare of Dalits, backward classes, and the armed forces. His speech aimed to consolidate support for the BJP by highlighting the perceived failures and dishonesty of Congress, especially in the run-up to the crucial state assembly elections.
