UP Minister OP Rajbhar Asserts Lord Hanuman Was Born in Rajbhar Caste Amid Political Debate
Om Prakash Rajbhar, the Panchayati Raj Minister of Uttar Pradesh, recently stated that Lord Hanuman belonged to the Rajbhar caste. Rajbhar, who leads the Suheldev Bhartiya Samaj Party (SBSP), an ally of the BJP, also criticised Congress and the Samajwadi Party for their recent admiration for B.R. Ambedkar.

During a public gathering, Rajbhar asserted, "Hanuman ji was born in Rajbhar caste. When demon Ahiravan took Ram ji and Laxman ji to Patal Puri, no one had the courage to bring them back. Only Hanuman ji, who was born in the Rajbhar caste, was the only one to have the courage to do it. Hanuman ji brought Ram and Laxman ji out of Patal Puri."
Political Criticism and Historical Claims
The remarks were made following a ceremony for Maharaja Suheldev's statue at Vasudeva village's main gate in Ballia's Chitbaragaon area. Rajbhar used this occasion to target opposition parties in Uttar Pradesh.
The SBSP leader accused the Samajwadi Party of being hostile towards Dr. Ambedkar before 2012. He claimed they announced plans to demolish Ambedkar Park in Lucknow and replace it with toilets once in power.
Opposition's Past Actions Questioned
Rajbhar also criticised Congress for its past actions during the Emergency period. He remarked, "The Congress which talks about the Constitution now, has put lakhs of leaders and journalists in jail by imposing Emergency."
He questioned their newfound affection for Ambedkar by asking, "So much love has been expressed today for Ambedkar. Was he not a god yesterday?"
Impact on Development Schemes
Rajbhar accused the Samajwadi Party of disrupting development schemes associated with Ambedkar's name. He stated that they ruined many lives by ending these initiatives.
The minister's comments have sparked discussions about historical interpretations and political strategies among parties in Uttar Pradesh.
