Gurugram Man Accuses Wife Of False Accusations, Harassment: '₹1.5 lakh Maintenance, ₹1 crore Compensation'

A Gurugram-based UX designer, Alok Mittal, has shared his personal ordeal following the controversy sparked by the suicide of Bengaluru techie Atul Subhash.

In a series of LinkedIn posts, Mittal accused his wife, Mansi Aggarwal, of harassment through false allegations of dowry and domestic violence.

He claims that he and Mansi began living separately just six months after their marriage. Despite this, Mansi is demanding ₹1.5 lakh in monthly maintenance and ₹1 crore as compensation.

Timeline of Events

Alok Mittal married Mansi Aggarwal in May 2023 in Delhi, but soon after the wedding, he lost his job. At the same time, the couple discovered that they were expecting their first child.

In one of his LinkedIn posts, Mittal explained that his wife pressured him to find a new job. "After a few days, I got to know that I was going to become a father, but my wife forced me to get a job as soon as possible anywhere in the world," he wrote.

Mittal found a job in Bengaluru in November 2023 after five months of searching. However, Mansi refused to join him in Bengaluru, citing her pregnancy, and moved back to her parents' home. "She promised to join me later but refused when I came to Delhi in December 2023 to bring her back," Mittal said.

The situation became increasingly difficult as Mansi and her parents became more aggressive towards Mittal. She also started asking him to quit his job in Bengaluru.

"Along with my 73-year-old mother, I faced threats and abuse," he wrote, alleging that his wife had filed false cases against him in Delhi and Bengaluru.

Accusations Against His Wife

Mittal also claimed that Mansi, who works as an analyst at Collegedunia earning ₹80,000 a month, was demanding ₹1.5 lakh in monthly maintenance and ₹1 crore as compensation. Despite her own income, Mittal stated that Mansi had used their 10-month-old son as a tool to manipulate him.

"Knowing my son was my weakness, she began using him against me. Whenever I tried to video call to see my son, she declined, saying the child was asleep," he said.

Mittal also alleged that if he missed a call or visit to Mansi in Delhi, her family accused him of abandoning her and their child. He further requested Mansi to join him in Bengaluru until he could secure a job in Delhi, but she refused.

"When she realised her manipulations were failing, she filed a false domestic violence case against me," Mittal claimed.

Mittal believes that his wife has not filed for divorce because it would not be in her financial favour. "It's been 18 months since our marriage, and for the last 13 months, my wife has been living separately," he said.

"If she files for divorce, she'll get it, and I'll move on with my life. I'll remarry, have kids, and build a happy future. She will get less money. Loss ho jayega fir to," he added.
