The alleged cattle smugglers were intercepted on Wednesday night and an FIR concerning this matter was filed on Thursday evening. According to Abhishek Gaur, the complainant in this case who is also a resident of Gurugram's Anand Garden, he had received information about animals being transported in two tempos. Acting upon this tip-off, authorities halted these vehicles at Pachgaon Chowk near KMP toll plaza.

Allegations of Extortion

Archana, wife of one of the detainees Pravesh Kumar lodged a complaint stating that unknown individuals demanded Rs 62,000 for releasing her husband and nephew. As per Archana’s account provided in her complaint, she received a call around 11 pm from her husband’s phone number but it was answered by someone else who informed her that if she wanted to secure their release then she would have to pay Rs 31,000 each at Pachgaon Chowk where they had been apprehended with a tempo full of cows.

A Night-Time Ordeal

"I boarded a cab with my sister-in-law Satto and reached KMP Pachgaon Chowk late at night. My husband Pravesh and nephew Rahul were sitting in an Ecco car and two people were standing outside there," stated Archana in her complaint. She further added that when she informed them that she only had Rs 5,000, they drove her away from the location. Upon later learning about the arrests of her husband and nephew, Archana decided to approach the police.

Police Response

Following these events, two separate FIRs were registered at Bilaspur police station. "Two separate FIRs have been registered. Further probe is underway and action will be taken as per the law," affirmed Manbir Singh, DCP, Manesar.

In conclusion, this incident sheds light on the complexities surrounding cattle smuggling in India and raises concerns over alleged extortion attempts by unidentified individuals. As investigations continue under the watchful eye of local authorities, it remains to be seen what further developments will ensue in this case.
