Gujarat Tableau Wins Popular Choice Award for Fourth Consecutive Year

Gujarat secured its fourth consecutive Popular Choice Award at the 77th Republic Day Parade in New Delhi for the tableau themed Swatantrata Ka Mantra: Vande Mataram, with ceremony honours presented by Union Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth.

Gujarat continued its remarkable winning streak at the Republic Day celebrations, as its tableau secured the Popular Choice Award for the fourth consecutive year at the 77th Republic Day Parade held at Kartavya Path, New Delhi.

The trophy and certificate were formally presented at an award ceremony organised at the Rashtriya Rang Shala Shibir in New Delhi. Union Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth presented the awards, which were received on behalf of the Government of Gujarat by Dr Vikrant Pandey, Additional Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, and Kishor Bachani, Commissioner of Information.

In addition to the tableau award, Gujarat's cultural performance was also honoured with a special encouragement award at the cultural dance competition held at the Rashtriya Rang Shala. The competition featured performances by artists from various states during the tableau preparation phase.

This year's award-winning tableau was based on the theme 'Swatantrata Ka Mantra: Vande Mataram' and was conceptualised and executed by the Office of the Commissioner of Information, Government of Gujarat. The project was undertaken under the guidance of Commissioner of Information Kishor Bachani and Additional Director of Information Arvind Patel. The overall execution was carried out by Joint Director of Information Dr Sanjay Kachot and Deputy Director of Information (Film Production Branch) Bhavna Vasava.

Gujarat's success in tableau presentations began in 2023 with the 'Clean Green Energy-Rich Gujarat' tableau, which highlighted the state's commitment to renewable energy and won the Popular Choice Award. The momentum continued in 2024, when the 'Dhordo: World's Best Tourism Village' themed tableau won the Popular Choice Award and also secured second place in the Jury's Choice category.

In 2025, the tableau titled 'From Anartpur to Ektanagar - A Stunning Confluence of Heritage and Development' showcased Gujarat's rapid modern development alongside its rich ancient heritage and won the Popular Choice Award.

By winning the Popular Choice Award once again in 2026, Gujarat has created history by securing this national honour for the fourth consecutive year, reaffirming its excellence in creative storytelling and cultural representation at the national level.
