Gujarat Road Accident: 4 Dead, 16 Injured As A Truck Rams Into A Pickup Van
In a tragic accident, a pickup van and a truck collided near Chotila, Gujarat on Monday night. The accident claimed lives of four women and sixteen others were left injured. As per the reports, the van was transporting 20 passengers from Shiyani village in Limbdi taluka to Somnath when the incident happened around 10:30 pm.
The truck, which was coming from the opposite direction, attempted to turn right to stop at a roadside hotel, leading to the crash. Police inspector I B Valvi explained, "The truck, coming from the opposite direction, turned right to halt at a roadside hotel and it led to the collision."

Victims and Injuries
Two women died instantly at the scene, while two others passed away later at the hospital due to their injuries. The injured individuals are currently receiving treatment at Rajkot civil hospital. All four deceased women were related and have been identified as Magjiben Rethariya (72), Galalben Rethariya (60), Manjuben Rethariya (65), and Gauriben Rethariya (68).
The group was on their way to Somnath for 'pitru tarpan,' a ritual performed for deceased ancestors. This tragic event has left their families and community in mourning.
Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident. They aim to determine if any traffic violations or negligence contributed to this unfortunate incident.
