Gujarat Congress MLAs cook for themselves, get special chef in Bengaluru resort

Congress MLAs from Gujarat have been lodged at a resort in Bengaluru since Saturday

Tired of the South Indian delicacies being served to them in a Bengaluru resort, Congress MLAs from Gujarat have started cooking for themselves. Karnataka Congress leaders have even arranged for a Gujarati chef to prepare food for the legislators.

"The legislators are not used to eating rice-heavy food. The resort is currently serving them rotis but they have asked for Gujarati cuisine that they are used to on a daily basis. We have arranged for a chef who can cook Gujarati food. Some of them wanted to cook by themselves. We have made arrangements for the same with the resort management's permission," said D K Shivakumar who is in charge of the Gujarat legislator's hospitality.

Incidentally, the legislators who are used to mild spices and sweets as part of their daily diet are finding it difficult to adjust to the spicy resort food.

On Tuesday, the legislators were given two orientation sessions by professors from the Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of leadership. While they spent time learning about the Congress, the BJP's attacks, the legislators were also given group activities to improve team work. The Karnataka Congress has chalked out a travel plan for the legislators but the same is yet to be approved by the high command.
