Gujarat: 17 Die Of Mysterious Disease In Kutch, Samples Sent To Pune Lab
After the devastation caused by the rains, another disaster has broken out in Kutch, Gujarat. A mysterious disease is spreading in the district, which has claimed 17 lives so far.
The first loss of life due to this unknown disease occurred in Bekhdo village of Lakhpat on September 3, after which a series of deaths began in Lakhpat, Abdasa taluk.

According to reports, 3 persons including a father and son duo have died in the last 24 hours in Bharavandh village of Abdasa taluk. 5 people have died in Bharavandh village so far. All of them complained of fever and stomach ache.
Health officials and district health commissioner rushed to Kutch. Two health department teams have been sent to the district from Jamnagar and Botad.
Samples have been collected and sent to a Pune lab, the results of which are awaited.
The government of Gujarat has requested the National Institute of Virology to conduct tests on samples for various pathogens, including Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever, scrub typhus, Chandipura vesiculovirus, Japanese encephalitis, and plague.
