Telangana Student's Death After Jumping from Moving Auto Triggers Family Protest Over School Negligence

A tragic incident occurred at a social welfare residential school in Kamareddy district, Telangana, where a 13-year-old girl died after leaping from a moving auto-rickshaw on the school's premises. The eighth standard student sustained severe head injuries on Sunday evening and was declared dead upon arrival at the hospital. The incident has sparked protests from her family and others, who blame the school management for negligence.

According to police reports, the unfortunate event happened when chairs were delivered to the school in an auto-rickshaw for Republic Day preparations. After unloading, four students, including the deceased, asked the driver for a ride to the main gate. As the vehicle moved, three girls jumped out unnoticed by the driver. Tragically, the deceased also jumped and suffered fatal injuries.

Protests and Demands for Justice

The girl's family and community members gathered near the school in Banswada mandal on Monday to protest. They demanded accountability from the school authorities and sought justice for their daughter. The grieving parents questioned why such a tragedy befell their child and urged that no other family should endure similar pain. They insisted that the district Collector address their concerns directly.

Police have registered a case against both the auto-driver and the school principal following this incident. CCTV footage reportedly captured the moment when the girls jumped from the moving vehicle, providing crucial evidence in the ongoing investigation.

Community Outrage Over Negligence

The community's outrage stems from perceived negligence by those responsible for student safety. The parents' demands highlight their desire for accountability and preventive measures to avoid future tragedies. A police official stated that after some distance, three girls exited the auto without being noticed by the driver. Unfortunately, when the deceased attempted to do likewise, she fell onto the road and suffered a fatal head injury. Despite being rushed to a hospital, doctors confirmed she had already passed away.
