GATE 2025: Registration Delay Announced – Find Out When To Apply, Exam Dates & Eligibility Criteria

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee has announced a change in the registration start date for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2025. Originally scheduled to commence today, the registration process will now begin on August 28. Prospective candidates can find detailed information and updates on the official GATE 2025 website at gate2025.iitr.ac.in.

Apart from the revised start date for registration, all other key dates for GATE 2025 remain unchanged. The application process will be open from August 28 to September 26. Candidates wishing to apply after September 26 will be required to pay a late fee, with the final date for submissions extended to October 7. The GATE 2025 examination itself is scheduled to take place over four days: February 1, 2, 15, and 16, 2025. Below is the complete revised schedule:

The application process for GATE 2025 will begin on August 28. The last date to submit the application without a late fee is September 26. For those applying with a late fee, the final submission date is October 7. The GATE 2025 exams are scheduled to take place on February 1, 2, 15, and 16.

GATE 2025: Eligibility Criteria

Candidates from Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Nepal, Singapore, Sri Lanka, and the United Arab Emirates are eligible to apply. The test is intended for those seeking admission into M.Tech and PhD programmes offered by IISc and IITs. Applicants must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a Master's Degree in a related field. There is no age restriction for candidates, but they must have completed a course of at least three years' duration.

GATE is a prestigious national-level entrance examination crucial for M.Tech admissions at IITs, NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs. Additionally, GATE scores are utilised by various Indian public sector undertakings for the recruitment of graduate engineers into entry-level positions.
