GATE 2025 Exam Format and Marking Scheme

This year's GATE exam will be computer-based and conducted in English. Participants have three hours to complete it. Questions will include Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ), multiple select questions (MSQ), and numerical answer type (NAT) formats.

A negative marking system applies to MCQs. For a wrong answer in a one-mark MCQ question, one-third of a mark is deducted; for a two-mark MCQ question answered incorrectly, two-thirds of a mark is subtracted. MSQ and NAT questions do not have negative marking or partial credit.

The updated schedule and details about the exam pattern are crucial for candidates preparing for GATE in February next year. Staying informed through official channels ensures candidates are well-prepared for all aspects of the examination process.
