Gandhi Family To Attend Swearing-In-Ceremony of Siddaramaiah, Shivakumar
The swearing-in ceremony of the Karnataka chief minister will be attended by the Gandhi family.
Congress chief, Mallikarjun Kharge would also extend an invitation to the opposition leaders in the state to attend the event. Sources said that Sonia, Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi would attend the event to be held in Bengaluru on May 20.

After much deliberation, the Congress finally came to a consensus and decided that Siddaramaiah would be the chief minister of Karnataka. It was also decided that D K Shivakumar would take oath as the deputy chief minister. The Congress said that a Cabinet would be in place in the next 72 hours.
D K Shivakumar told certain media outlets that he would be the next deputy chief minister, while Siddaramaiah would be chief minister.
Shivakumar said that the party high command has taken a decision on him being the deputy chief minister. He also met with senior Congress leader K V Venugopal in Delhi. Prior to this Siddaramaiah had met with Venugopal in Delhi. Both leaders are likely to leave for Bengaluru today.

Siddaramaiah after attending the meeting was confronted by reporters and asked about the decision that was taken. He however refused to speak to the media.
Meanwhile arrangements for the ceremony took place on Wednesday itself at the Kanteerva Stadium in Bengaluru. The police inspected the venue ahead of the key event.
Sources also said that Shivakumar apart from being given the deputy CM's post was also offered six portfolios of his choice.
