G Janardhana Reddy Rejoins BJP Ahead Of Lok Sabha Elections 2024 In Presence Of BS Yediyurappa
Ahead of the Lok Sabha elections 2024, political parties are joining hands with regional fronts, and candidates are switching sides as their political careers are at stake. On Monday, Mining baron and Kalyana Rajya Pragathi Paksha MLA G Janardhana Reddy and his wife Aruna Lakshmi joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and merged their party with the saffron wing.
Reddy, who had parted ways with BJP almost a decade ago, and formed his own party ahead of the 2022 Karnataka Assembly elections, is now back with his old party. The latter joined the party with his wife in the presence of senior party leader and former Chief Minister of Karnataka BS Yediyurappa.

At the time of joining, Reddy said "Looking at my friends and well-wishers here, I do not feel that I am coming to BJP office after 13 years. In fact, I feel as though I had gone out of this office just yesterday and returning today."
The latest update will surely boost BJP's performance in the state in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections as Reddy has a massive following and can influence voters at large.
Notably, Reddy is the only MLA of Kalyana Rajya Pragathi Paksha and his party workers are connected with people on ground, which may help BJP to woo voters in their favor, told the media that Union Home Minister Amit Shah had invited him to Delhi to meet him and offered an invitation to join the party instead of providing outside support.
Making it clear that his joining the BJP or merging his party with the BJP was purely "non-conditional", Mr. Reddy said: "I have come to the BJP solely to work towards realising the dream of a large number of people that Narendra Modi should become prime minister again."
He added, "The god and the BJP have given me all I could ask for at a young age. I have seen all the ups and downs in life. Now I do not need any position. I will work as an ordinary party worker and handle whatever the responsibility the party gives me."
