TMC MLA brings embarrassment for Didi
Burdwan, Nov 4: In yet another embarrassment for Mamata Banerjee in West Bengal, a ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) MLA was caught on camera claiming that his party leaders are extorting money from businessmen.

While addressing a large gathering, TMC legislator from Burdwan district, Tapan Chatterjee, on Monday said, "Some of our TMC leaders are engaged in extorting money from different businessman of our area, they are sending envelopes with a note stating the amount that should be sent to them by businessman."

As per reports, Chatterjee was immediately heckled by his own party men for making such a statement.
However, TMC has neither reacted over Chatterjee's controversial statement or took any action against the Burdwan MLA.

Meanwhile, the BJP has criticised the TMC over Chatterjee's sensational revelation and accused the Mamata Banerjee Government of bringing 'Mafia Raj' in the state.

Commenting upon this development, BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra said extortion from businessmen and terrorism are taking place under TMC in West Bengal.

The Mamata Banerjee government is already facing flak over recent Burdwan blast and TMC leaders' alleged links with terror outfits in Bangladesh.
