Airport attack: Taliban responsible
Karachi, June 9: After Pakistani police forces claimed that the airport has been sanitized of terrorists, fresh firings were heard from a workshop area inside the airport. However, it is not clear what was the reason behind the firing.

Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has claimed responsibility for the Sunday night attack on Karachi's Jinnah International Airport, media reported Monday.

It is now claimed that about 3 terrorists are still present in the airport. IN the five and hour hour duel between the terrorists and the police personnel, 1 official was killed.

23 people were reported to be killed in the attack. DG Rangers Sindh Major General Rizvan Akhtar has confirmed the terrorists to be All Uzbeks. In a press conference, he said that there were 3 suicide bombers.

At around 5:30 am, militants disguised as airport security launched a 26/11-styled attack with bombs and rocket launchers at Karachi airport, killing 13 people.
