Subhan was the prime accused in the 2008 Gujarat blasts case in which over 50 persons died.

The hunt for Subhan was a long one. He had evaded security agencies for over 8 years. Dubbed as the Osama Bin Laden of India, Subhan was living in Nepal with forged documents.

He had come down to India in a bid to revive the Indian Mujahideen, DCP Pramod Kushwaha said. "Abdul Subhan Qureshi was living with forged documents in Nepal. He came back to India to revive Indian Mujahideen," DCP Kushwaha told mediapersons at a press conference on Monday.

The Special Cell of Delhi Police nabbed Qureshi after a brief exchange of fire. He was then presented before a court and sent to police remand for 14 days, DCP Kushwaha said.
