Former Army Officer and Associates Arrested in Rajasthan for Disturbing Public Peace

In a recent incident that has captured the attention of many, a former Army officer, along with his associates, was arrested in Kota, Rajasthan, for allegedly causing a disturbance to public peace. This event unfolded at the historic Moti Mahal located within the Taragarh Palace in Bundi district, as confirmed by local police authorities.

Ex-Army Officer Arrested in Rajasthan

Brigadier Bhupesh Singh Hada (retd.) and his three companions found themselves under arrest on Wednesday, following a complaint lodged by members of the trust overseeing the Taragarh Palace. The police took action under IPC Section 151 as a preventive measure to maintain public order. Despite the arrest, all four individuals were granted bail later that evening, as stated by Bundi Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP), Uma Sharma.

The complaint against Hada and his associates led to the registration of an FIR at Kotwali police station. They were charged under various sections of the IPC, including 143 (unlawful assembly) and 455 (house trespass), among others. The ASP disclosed that an investigation into the case has commenced.

Following their release on bail, Hada made statements to the media outside the court premises. He alleged that Bhanwar Jitendra Singh of Alwar was involved in operating an illegal trust and had unlawfully occupied the Taragarh Palace while Hada was serving in the army. He emphasized that the Taragarh Palace, being a heritage property of the Bundi royal family, should be dedicated to public and religious activities rather than being under illegal occupation.

This incident has brought to light concerns regarding the management and use of heritage properties in Rajasthan. The Taragarh Palace, known for its historical significance and architectural beauty, has become the center of a legal dispute that raises questions about the preservation and utilization of such sites for community benefit.

The local authorities are continuing their investigation into the matter to ascertain the facts and determine the appropriate course of action. The outcome of this case could have implications for how heritage properties are protected and managed in Rajasthan, ensuring they serve the interests of both history and the public.
