Jammu and Kashmir BJP Calls for Development Focus Over Article 370 Discussions

Jammu and Kashmir BJP President Sat Sharma urged the National Conference to prioritise regional development over the persistent focus on Article 370. He emphasised that Article 370 is now a historical matter and should not overshadow pressing issues like public welfare and development in Jammu and Kashmir. "They should forget Article 370," Sharma stated during a party meeting.

BJP Advocates for Kashmirs Development Priorities

Sharma criticised the National Conference and other Kashmiri parties for using Article 370 as an emotional tool to mislead people for political gains. He argued that the provision had deprived many sections of society of their basic rights. "The clock cannot be turned back. Much water has flowed down the Jhelum, and no force on Earth can reverse it. Article 370 was abrogated constitutionally and legally. It's time for the NC to accept this reality," Sharma asserted.

Development Post-Abrogation

Since the removal of Article 370, Sharma noted significant progress in Jammu and Kashmir's infrastructure, including road, rail, and air connectivity. He highlighted advancements in health, education, and communication sectors as well. Prestigious projects and social welfare schemes introduced after the abrogation have transformed lives, addressing grievances of marginalised sections and enabling them to lead dignified lives.

Sharma urged the National Conference to draw inspiration from Prime Minister Narendra Modi's governance model. He encouraged them to focus on making Jammu and Kashmir a hub of peace, progress, and prosperity. The politician also claimed that a zero-tolerance policy against terrorism under PM Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has restored peace and normalcy in the region.
