Flipkart Shocker: Telangana man orders smartphone, but gets mangoes

Hyderabad, June 12: Chiluveri Srucharan, a resident of Jagtial in Telangana, was waiting for the delivery of his smartphone. He had placed the order on Flipkart. After receiving the delivery, Srucharan was shocked.

Srucharan did not receive a smartphone but two mangoes were placed inside the box, which was given by the FedEx, a global courier service delivery company.

Srucharan, an electrical engineer, had used his credit card while placing the order on Flipkart. Now, he has been trying to get either the mobile phone or a refund.

He had placed the order for an Asus phone, Zenfone 5, priced at Rs 8,099 during the mega sale conducted by the Flipkart on May 26. His order number was OD002947033911410000, claimed media reports.

When the man contacted Flipkart customer care service team, he was told that he would be refunded within 24 hours.

According to his statement, Flipkart told him, "We would like to inform you that your recent replacement order has been cancelled as we have noticed an unwarranted return, which do not comply with our Returns Policy."

The man later was quoted as saying, "I have been getting varied answers whenever I complain about the wrong delivery. In a mail sent by representatives of the e-commerce company, they even threatened to block my order if I took this issue to the social media. I am planning to take help of a consumer forum if this problem is not addressed soon."
