First Covid Case In Latest Surge Detected In Himachal’s Sirmaur, Masks Now Mandatory

Himachal Pradesh has reimposed face mask regulations in hospitals following the confirmation of a new COVID-19 case, marking the start of a fresh wave in the state. Health authorities have now made masks compulsory for patients and their attendants while entering healthcare facilities.

A senior health department official stated, "With the rise in COVID cases across several parts of the country, wearing face masks is now mandatory for patients and their attendants at all hospitals in Himachal Pradesh."

First Covid Case in the Latest Surge Reported from Sirmaur

The first confirmed case in this recent surge emerged from Nahan, located in the Sirmaur district. An 82-year-old woman visited the Nahan Medical College and Hospital on Tuesday morning with symptoms of cold and cough. She tested positive for COVID-19 via a rapid test, according to Chief Medical Officer Dr. Amitabh Jain.

Government Issues Advisory for COVID Management

In response to the case, the Himachal Pradesh government has released a health advisory instructing hospitals and medical staff to prepare for the effective handling of COVID-19 cases.

The advisory also emphasizes strict social distancing in public areas. It further urges vulnerable groups - including children, senior citizens, and individuals with underlying health conditions - to wear masks at all times and take necessary precautions to avoid exposure.

The new developments highlight the importance of continued vigilance and readiness as sporadic COVID-19 cases begin to re-emerge across various states.
