Fight Over Seat! Class IX Student Killed In Tamil Nadu

A disagreement over a seat on a school bus between two Class IX students resulted in the tragic death of 14-year-old Kandaguru in Salem. The incident occurred near Edappadi in Salem district on Monday evening. As the bus approached Vellandivalasu, an altercation broke out, leading to Kandaguru falling and hitting his head.

Salem district superintendent of police Gautam Goyal explained that the conflict escalated when another student struck Kandaguru on the chest. This caused him to fall, and the back of his head hit the bus floor, rendering him unconscious. The school bus staff immediately took him to a private hospital for treatment.

Medical Response and Investigation

Doctors at the hospital assessed Kandaguru's condition as critical. He was moved to the intensive care unit of another private hospital in Salem. Despite efforts to save him, he succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday morning. A doctor involved in his treatment noted that two consecutive shocks to his heart and brain were factors in his death.

Following a complaint from Kandaguru's parents, Edappadi police registered a case against the other student involved in the incident. The accused has been placed in a government correctional home as part of the ongoing investigation into this unfortunate event.
Security Measures Implemented

In response to this tragic incident, police personnel have been deployed at the private school for security purposes.
