Features of New Delhi-Kathgodam Shatabdi Express, India’s Gold Standard train

The New Delhi-Kathgodam Shatabdi Express will be launched today. It is part of the Railways' Swarn Project which aims at renovating premium trains such as the Rajdhani and Shatabdi.
The trains which are being upgraded at a cost of Rs 50 lakh will have new on-board entertainment, trolley service for catering, a new coach interiors, automatic doors and clean toilets.
The security system too will be enhanced with the installation of CCTVs, more RPF personnel among others. The Railways has focused on areas such as aesthetics, hygiene and entertainment. The interiors have been re-done with vinyl wrapping.

The
toilets
would
have
dustbins,
personal
seat
covers,
automatic
odour
and
hygiene
control
systems.
Disposable
headrest
covers
have
been
provided
for
executive
class
while
all
coaches
will
have
integrated
Braille
signages.
The
passengers
would
also
be
able
to
enjoy
HD
streaming
through
Wifi
hotspots.
