Fawad Khan's Abir Gulaal Songs Removed From YouTube India Amid Boycott Calls Post Pahalgam Terror Attack

Pakistani actor Fawad Khan and Indian actress Vaani Kapoor's upcoming film Abir Gulaal is facing serious problems following the recent terror attack in Pahalgam on April 22. The attack, which killed at least 26 people, has led to strong public reactions and calls to boycott the film.

Songs Taken Down From YouTube India

Fawad Khan s Abir Gulaal Songs

The makers had recently released two songs from the film - Khudaya Ishq, a romantic track, and Angreji Rangrasiya, a dance number. However, both songs have now been removed from YouTube India, as per a Hindustan Times (HT) report. They are no longer available on the YouTube channels of either the production house, A Richer Lens Entertainment, or the music label Saregama, which holds the film's music rights.

The decision to take down the songs appears to be linked to widespread social media criticism. Many users expressed their anger over Indian and Pakistani artists working together so soon after the terror incident. A third song titled Tain Tain was expected to be released on Wednesday, but it has not yet appeared online. So far, the makers and actors have not commented on the removal of the songs.

Fawad Khan Condemns Attack

Fawad Khan had earlier shared a message on social media, strongly condemning the attack. He said, "Deeply saddened to hear the news of the heinous attack in Pahalgam. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims of this horrifying incident, and we pray for strength and healing for their families in this difficult time."

Film Release In Doubt

There is growing uncertainty about the film's release. Several social media users and groups have called for a ban on Abir Gulaal, which is set to release on May 9. According to a report by PTI, government sources said on Thursday that the film will not be allowed to release in India.

The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has also repeated its ban on Pakistani artists. They have asked Indian producers and production houses not to work with actors, singers, or technicians from Pakistan.

About Abir Gulaal

The film is directed by Aarti S Bagdi and produced by Indian Stories Production in association with A Richer Lens and Aarjay Pictures. Producers include Vivek B Agrawal, Avantika Hari, and Rakesh Sippy. Shot in London, the film also stars Lisa Haydon, Riddhi Dogra, Farida Jalal, Soni Razdan, and Parmeet Sethi in key roles.

With increasing tension and calls for boycott, the future of Abir Gulaal in Indian cinemas now hangs in the balance.
