Fake degree case: Police arrests Delhi Law Minister Jitender Singh Tomar, AAP calls it conspiracy
New Delhi, Jun 9: In a major embarrassment to AAP government in Delhi, Law Minister Jitender Singh Tomar was on Tuesday arrested by the Delhi Police, media reports claimed.
The AAP Minister was detained from his office and was being taken to the Hauz Khas police station in connection with the fake degree case.
Tomar is being questioned by police in connection with his fake law degree.
An FIR was registered against him last night. He has been charged under various IPC sections including 420 (cheating). A police team had gone to Bihar on the direction of court to investigate charges that he had used fake degrees.
Meanwhile, AAP leader Sanjay Singh termed it as conspiracy by BJP-led NDA government at Centre to threaten the party.

There were constant demands from Delhi BJP as well as Congress to sack AAP Law Minister after a Bihar-based university from where Tomar claimed to have obtained his degree, told the Delhi High Court, in April, that the provisional certificate was not "genuine" and "does not exist in the university's record".
