Congress to Expose Alleged Voter Roll Rigging by Karnataka Election Commission on August 5

The Congress will hold a protest in Bengaluru on August 5 to expose alleged rigging of voter rolls by the Karnataka Election Commission. Led by Rahul Gandhi, the party claims serious irregularities threaten electoral integrity.

The Congress party has announced plans to reveal alleged voter roll manipulation by the Karnataka Election Commission on August 5. They are determined to prevent such electoral misconduct from continuing unchecked. K C Venugopal, Congress General Secretary, stated that a large protest in Bengaluru, led by former party leader Rahul Gandhi, is planned to address this issue.

Venugopal expressed concerns over the integrity of the electoral process, citing fake entries and deleted names in the voters list. He emphasised that these issues cannot be dismissed as mere clerical errors but are deliberate attempts to undermine democracy. "These cannot be brushed aside as clerical errors. They are deliberate attempts to sabotage democracy," he said.

Protest Against Electoral Malpractices

In preparation for the protest, Venugopal reviewed arrangements alongside Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar. Randeep Singh Surjewala, AICC General Secretary in-charge of Karnataka, also participated in the review. The protest will be led by Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi.

The Congress party is committed to safeguarding the sanctity of the vote. Venugopal stated, "We will not allow such electoral malpractices to go unchecked. The fight to protect the sanctity of the vote is just beginning." This highlights their resolve to address and rectify these alleged irregularities.

Venugopal shared his thoughts on X after assessing the protest preparations. He reiterated the party's intention to expose what they consider blatant manipulation of voter rolls by the Karnataka Election Commission. The Congress aims to bring attention to these issues through their planned demonstration.

By organising this protest, Congress seeks to highlight significant concerns about electoral integrity in Karnataka. They aim to ensure that such practices do not compromise future elections and democratic processes in India.
