Exit Polls 2024: Check Results, Prediction For Lok Sabha Elections To Be Out After 6:30 PM Today

Those that have been waiting for the results of the exit polls from different news agencies and survey companies don't need to wait much longer. Most news outlets will start publishing their exit poll results from 6:30 PM onwards.

Readers can find exit poll results of their desired news outlet on their home pages, YouTube channels or TV channels. Most, if not all news agencies will be posting exit poll results on all their platforms.

This includes Oneindia, where the exit poll results will be available on the homepage - oneindia.com - and our YouTube channel - Oneindia News - from 6:30 PM onwards.

These exit polls are conducted with voters directly after they've given their vote and exited their local voting booths. Their results, however, are never released earlier than when the last phase of elections are over, despite the data being ready days in advance for the different phases before.

This is because of sub-Section (1) of Section 126A of The Representation of the People Act, 1951, which states that, "No person shall conduct any exit poll and publish or publicise by means of the print or electronic media or disseminate in any other manner, whatsoever, the result of any exit poll during such period, as may be notified by the Election Commission in this regard."

With regards to this law, the ECI on 28 March notified that the time period between 7:00 A.M on 19 April, 2024 and 6:30 PM on 1 June, 2024 is when the publishing and publicising of any exit poll will be prohibited. The notice also stated that under Section 126 (1) (b) of the R.P. Act, 1951, no opinion polls or results relating to the election shall be shared by any electronic media for a 48 hour time period. The period would end once the general elections for Lok Sabha 2024 are over.
