Ex-PM Deve Gowda Hospitalised At Manipal Hospital For Respiratory Illness
Former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda has been admitted to Manipal Hospital for a respiratory illness and is currently under the care of Dr. Satyanarayana Mysore. His condition is stable, and he is being monitored by a team of specialists.
Recently, Deve Gowda announced that his party, JD(S), and its ally BJP would contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections together. He stated, "Both of us, JD(S) and BJP, will fight the (2024 Lok Sabha) elections together. We will contest in all the 28 seats (of Karnataka). You will see the outcome after the elections."

The JD(S) joined the NDA in September last year after a meeting between H D Kumaraswamy, Deve Gowda's son, Home Minister Shah, and BJP national president Nadda in New Delhi. Both parties have confirmed that they will contest the general elections in Karnataka together, although the seat-sharing arrangement has yet to be finalized.
