Europe dream takes 8,400 refugees’ lives
The refugee crisis has hit the world quite extensively as several parts are in civil strife. Especially after the Ukraine crisis, the numbers are going up quite significantly.
Europe is still a fantasy land for a lot of people from Africa and crisis-hit Middle-East Asia. However, in pursuit of living a safe and comfortable life, more than 8,400 people have lost their lives. A study that went through the data from the UN refugee agency claims that these people could not cross the sea on their way to Europe. Interestingly enough, this data is of just the last three years but enough to indicate the global crisis.
As the study shows that the immigrants tried to escape from their homelands they perished at sea. The refugee crisis has hit the world quite extensively as several parts are in civil strife. Especially after the Ukraine crisis, the numbers are going up quite significantly. Data from 'Save the Children' estimates that more than 8 million migrants were allowed to enter Europe. However, the European countries have been quite cautious about refugees from Syria.

Discriminatory immigration policy on refugees from European nations
Whereas Europe has welcomed refugees from Ukraine, several countries have discriminatory policies when it comes to refugees from Africa and Middle-Eastern countries. Because of the lack of apathy, several of the people who try to enter the borders of European countries lose their lives at sea. They are not allowed despite all visible marks that they don't have a place to live. Syrian kid Alan Kurdi had become a symbol of this European apathy.
However, nothing has changed over the years and as the report of more than 8,400 Europe-bound migrants perishing at sea has shocked many, European countries are least bothered about them. A trend could be spotted in the refugee policy of European countries. Now these countries stop the refugees forcibly and detain them in detention camps, forcing them to return from the same route that they came from, which is often the sea route.
All this has caused several incidents where boats capsized and hundreds of people, including women and children, died. Needless to say, the 40-page report has exposed the hypocrisy of the Western countries and how they have ignored all the warnings issued by the UN refugee agency which keeps sending them across.
Carried out in a violent and apparently systematic way, the pushbacks have claimed the lives of more than 8,000 people from Africa and Asia. The worst part is most of the refugee crises have been created by none other than NATO in countries like Libya, Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, etc. And the NATO countries have not even shown any remorse about it, leave apart helping the victims.
